Getting Started
How do I get started?
Fill out our free quote form or call 1-800-371-6256. Tell us about your coin, upload anything you have, and a member of our USA-based design team will reach out to review your idea, talk through options and give you your quote.
What happens after I request a quote?
A designer contacts you to go over your idea and your quote. Next we email you a free full-color digital proof of the front and back. You can ask for changes, and once it looks right you approve it. After that you approve your order confirmation, say “Go!” and we start making your coins.
What if I only have an idea and no artwork?
That's perfectly fine. A logo file, a photo, a rough drawing or a sketch on a napkin all work. Our design team creates your artwork at no additional cost.
Is there any obligation when I ask for a quote?
None at all. Your quote and your proof are free, and nothing is made until you approve your proof and order confirmation.
When can I talk to a real person?
Our customer service team answers the phone Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm Eastern. Call 1-800-371-6256 or email [email protected] any time.
Who is Challenge Coins On Sale?
We are a veteran-owned company that has been making custom challenge coins since 2008, more than 18 years. We are BBB A+ accredited since 2015. Read what our customers say on our reviews page.
Design & Proofs
Will I see my coin before it is made?
Always. We email a full-color digital proof of the front and back showing your colors, metal and edge. Production only starts after you approve it.
Can I make changes to my proof?
Yes. Review your proof carefully, paying special attention to the design, spelling and colors, and tell us what you would like changed before you approve it.
How do you match colors?
We use the Pantone PMS color matching system. Every PMS number is listed on your proof so you can check your colors exactly, since every screen shows color a little differently.
Can the front and back be different?
Yes. Every coin has two sides, and each side can have its own design. You can add color to one side, both sides or neither. Our pricing page shows the prices for each.
Can I use a logo or trademark on my coin?
Yes, as long as you have the legal right to reproduce it. By sending us artwork you confirm that you own it or are licensed to use any logos or images on it.
Sizes, Metals & Options
What sizes can I order?
Our most popular sizes are 1.5", 1.75", 2", 2.5" and 3". Custom shapes such as badges, bars, bottle openers and cut-out designs are available too. Not sure which size to pick? Read our coin size guide.
What metal finishes do you offer?
Popular platings include polished gold, antique gold, polished silver, antique silver, black nickel, brass, copper and bronze, plus dual-tone gold and silver. See examples on our coin options page.
What edge styles are available?
A smooth edge is standard. You can also choose a diamond cut, spur cut, rope cut, oblique cut, bevel diamond cut, cross cut or engraved edge.
What is the difference between a die struck coin and a color coin?
A die struck coin has no color. Its design is raised and recessed in the metal, like U.S. currency. A color coin fills the recessed areas with enamel colors. Our die struck vs. color guide explains which works best for different designs.
What extras can I add?
Popular add-ons include glitter enamel, glow-in-the-dark enamel, a clear epoxy dome, sequential numbering, cut-outs, keychains and 3D molds. For gifting there are velvet bags, coin capsules and velvet presentation cases. Every coin comes in a free PVC pouch. See prices on our pricing page.
Do you make coins for my kind of group?
Almost certainly. We make coins for the military, police, fire and EMS, businesses, government, clubs, churches, sports teams, events and memorials. Browse our coin categories or the coin gallery for real examples.
Pricing & Payment
How much do custom challenge coins cost?
Price depends on size, quantity, colors and options. There is also a one-time mold fee based on size: $100 (1.5"), $125 (1.75"), $150 (2"), $200 (2.5") and $300 (3"). See our live per-coin prices on the pricing page, read the pricing guide, or request a free quote for your exact price.
Does ordering more coins lower the price?
Yes. The per-coin price goes down as your quantity goes up. You can compare quantities on our pricing page.
Do you price match?
Yes. Every order is backed by our 100% Price Match Guarantee on comparable coins. Send us the other company's quote and we will match it or beat it.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
How do I pay for my order?
Once you have approved your proof, you can pay on our Pay Online page. Have your proof number and order total handy. Prefer to pay by phone? Call 1-800-371-6256, Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm Eastern.
Do you offer discounts?
Sign up for our discount list at the bottom of any page and we will send you coin deals and design ideas a few times a year. No spam, ever.
Production & Shipping
How long does it take to get my coins?
Once you approve your proof and say “Go!”, most orders arrive within 2 weeks. Very large orders take a little longer: about 18 days for 5,000 to 10,000 coins and about 25 days for 10,000 to 25,000. Orders over 25,000 are scheduled individually.
Can you meet my deadline?
Tell us your date when you request your quote and we will tell you honestly what is possible. Remember to leave time for design and any changes to your proof.
Are there busy times I should plan around?
Yes. June 1 to August 31 is peak season for custom coins, and Lunar New Year factory closures in late January or early February can add about 10 days. If you have a firm date during those times, order early.
Is shipping really free?
Yes. Your coins ship by air with FedEx or UPS directly to the address you choose, at no additional cost.
Does someone need to sign for the package?
Yes. Deliveries are signature required so your coins arrive safely. If no one is available, the driver leaves a tag you can sign so the package can be left on the next attempt.
Can I re-order the same coin later?
Yes. We keep your mold and templates for 12 months after your purchase, so re-orders are quick and easy. If you don't re-order within 12 months, we recycle the mold and a $28 mold recycling fee is charged to the card on file. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
Guarantees & Policies
What guarantee do you offer?
Every order is backed by our 100% Quality Guarantee. We will replace, at no charge, any coin with a defect in materials or workmanship.
What should I do when my coins arrive?
Check your order right away and let us know about any problem. Defects need to be reported within 5 days of delivery.
Can I cancel my order?
Because every coin is custom made, orders cannot be canceled once your proof and order confirmation are approved. Please review both carefully before you approve them.
Where can I read your full policies?
Everything is in our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
